Today the electricity market sees a continuous increase in requests for home automation systems to install them in increasingly intelligent living systems. With increasingly advanced functions, some systems operate with voice systems, others with applications connected directly to the user's smartphone and still others are managed in a traditional way, being innovative only in their forms.
But what happens to the smart home in the event of a blackout?
It is sufficient to connect the electrical system to an uninterruptible power supply for the basic functions of the system and they will continue to perform normally even in the event of a power failure. In this way, the Smart home will never stop working but each command will be able to continue its normal operation.
No limits for the Smart home
With a simple UPS or uninterruptible power supply, you can save the correct functioning of any command. The installation is simple and the effect obtained can be indispensable, especially if the home is entirely designed on the basis of a home automation system. UPSs are in fact absolutely necessary in buildings whose activities cannot be interrupted, such as hospitals or emergency facilities. The uninterruptible power supply is in fact equipment capable of avoiding voltage fluctuations, keeping it constant, and powering the controls in the event of a lack of electricity. The UPS is also essential for the life of computers: in the event of voltage surges or blackouts, no data is lost and its regular functioning is not compromised.
What if the UPS is missing?
If the system is not equipped, any function would be put to the test. Without electricity, for example, the heating and cooling system could not work, because it is controlled by electronics. The household appliances obviously wouldn't work, as would the shutters, which could only be unlocked if they had the ability to intervene manually. There would also be the risk of remaining completely in the dark if emergency lights have not been installed.
What about smart home voice assistants? They would remain silent without triggering any command requested by the user.
