Intercom installation guide

The BTicino intercom kits are designed to facilitate and simplify the installation of the device and allow for quicker use.

Unlike what one might think, installing an intercom kit is very simple, especially if you use two-wire intercom kits.

Furthermore, it is important to specify that BTicino , with the 2 WIRE system, guarantees the possibility of installing the intercom system already set up for a subsequent transition to video. For this reason it is ideal in the case of renovations or new installations.

What does the intercom kit look like inside?

Inside the intercom kit you will find everything needed for correct installation: the installation user manual, the intercom with the frame for installation on the wall, the entrance panel and a bag with the accessories necessary for the installation. installation of the pushbutton panel: screws, plugs and a special key that allows opening the intercom module.

What do we need to install the intercom kit?

A Phillips screwdriver and a slotted screwdriver, scissors, a pencil, the level, the electric cable, the drill and the wire pull probe if the cable is not already inserted.

How is an intercom installed?

For perfect operation of the intercom it is essential to connect the external unit to the intercom to the electrical cable. Using the level, fix the vertical points on the wall as a guide for installing the intercom pushbutton panel. Once the connection cables and those of the lock that powers it at 12V are connected, it is possible to close the pushbutton panel definitively.

At this point we proceed with the installation of the intercom.

Again with the help of the level, use a pencil to mark on the wall the points where the base of the intercom will be fixed with the screws. If an electrical box is provided, then this operation will no longer be necessary and it will be much simpler to fix the intercom to the vertically walled 503 box

The next step is to connect the wires to the intercom: for correct connection it is important to refer to the diagram found in the instruction manual, connecting the same cables connected to the pushbutton panel in a similar way.

At this point it is necessary to connect the 230V cable to the intercom power supply obviously after having installed it inside an electrical box normally called switchboard which can be built-in or wall-mounted. For this phase, the phase and neutral wires are highlighted on the power supply. obviously it is important to turn off the power first.

Subsequently, it will be sufficient to attach the intercom/external plate cable to the power supply and the installation will be completed.

When the call button on the external unit is pressed, the system generates a signal which is recognized only by the internal units to which the call is addressed. When the call arrives, the internal unit rings and the user can answer and open the lock.
