BTicino LivingLight is a new series created by BTicino as the result of innovation at the service of personal creativity and daily life: to create a light point in line with every need for style and functionality. Today LivingLight is now a highly successful civil series, the result of formidable sales and design awards.
Why was BTicino LivingLight designed like this?
For a project like this we couldn't take inspiration from the bizarre shape of a cloud: the inspiration comes from a careful and scrupulous investigation of the living styles in today's society and how they came to life within domestic habits . There are different forms of living that coexist and mix independently of rational logic, in which the light point has two very distinct and decisive roles. The first is the exhibited style of a piece of furniture: the design of this product is subject to a process of strong characterization of the lines, with three-dimensional figures and full curves. The second role corresponds to the minimalist style, requested especially by architects and interior experts, whose objective is to make the light point "disappear" inside the structure: reduction of volume and clean, elegant and discreet style.
A single series where plates and the color of the mechanisms can be combined in an absolutely free way: white, tech and anthracite with the two shapes, round and square. Speaking of mechanisms, it is the control that is at the center of the design, as a meeting place between the user and the light point. The objective was to work on the senses, to improve the perception of the light point from all points of view. As regards the visual side, the design has been renewed, maintaining the essentiality of LivingLight, making the surface silky and pleasant to the touch.
LivingLight: the civil series for today's needs
Today the plaque is chosen not only for its formal characteristics, but also for its style, color and design characteristics. LivingLight has a truly evident tradition of chromatic richness. Color has become a connotation that transforms the object: unique and unrepeatable colors available in 46 different variations. Each line is the result of different inspirations, deriving from the need to satisfy any need, both aesthetic and functional. The Silk line, for example, was inspired by the world of fashion, which absolutely dictates the rules in terms of new trends in colour; just like the Twin line made with an ennobled plastic, it breaks the classic dichotomy of the plate to meet the style of the vintage world.
Not only technopolymer but, thanks to the need to highlight the concept of nature even more, the line of wooden plates was created, a material still alive and present in the house: from walnut to oak, ending with the innovation of bamboo, capable to evoke the world of aesthetics and ecology.
With ever thinner dimensions: BTicino LivingLight Air is born
Aesthetics based on two-dimensional expressiveness: ultra-thin objects, flat surfaces that evoke the fluidity of the digital world. Reduction, simplicity and technology create an aesthetic whole perceived as beauty: LivingLight Air is born, the thin sheet of metal that caresses the wall. So thin that it is almost 4mm thick: narrow selection with fine finishes.
The color after becoming a motif and not an attribute, becomes a metaphor for light and the plaque as a jewel: what emotions and what lasts over time, with romantic minimalism.
